On the ten year anniversary of Appalachian State defeating Vegas in the point spread by beating Michigan, something just as impressive happened yesterday. Baylor/UNLV were two teams that had horrid nights going against FCS opponents. The Howard Bisons were paid $600,000 to come into Vegas, and play the game of their lives. Mean while Liberty University from Virginia was also paid handsomely to ruin the Matt Rhule debut at Baylor. Let us look deeper into the games that are responsible for blowing up Vegas!
Howard 43 UNLV 40
Caylin Newton (Cam Newton’s little brother) was the one who put on the offensive show in Vegas, throwing for 140 yards, and running for 190! At one point in the middle of the third quarter UNLV looked like they would take control winning 33-21. Howard was persistent, making crazy offensive play, this is by far the biggest upset according to Vegas.
Liberty 48 Baylor 45
While many criticize Liberty University for their academics, they came to play in Waco last night. Not many people know but Liberty is going to make the jump to FBS soon. While Baylor is trying to cleanse their name, an upset like this couldn’t have happened to a better program…
